Talk: Corazón Aquino

Corazon Aquino, President of the Philippines (1986-1992)

Who made this page

You are all slaves

If this site is after the truth, why do you write only the good things. Why you have to consider the segment "A Hope that Failed " as vandalism. If you are a Filipino, you know that this is the only true segment

Wikipedia is devoted to NPOV (Neutral Point of View). It is okay to say that some people believe that she failed, but to say or imply that YOU believe that is POV. It is vandalism to deliberately edit an article to inject biased views. It is acceptable to QUOTE a authoritative source with POV, but to present such opinion as if it were objective fact is considered POV, which is against Wikipedia's policy. Then you in Wikipedia are not after the truth. Why do you people always want to say just the good things, even if it is a lie. Why you dont want to publish the truth ? Because it is not pleasing to the ears of these people? Anyway this is your site, sorry to disturb you. but what you wrote about Corazon Aquino is wrong. And if you are wrong with some things, how can I trust in other things?
Besides, it is already a common knowledge to every Filipino, that Aquino was hiding in Cebu during the People Power, that she sided on Ramos instead of Mitra, that there were several coup attempts against her government, That the country never recovered from poverty. I thought you are after for the truth. If you will hide these information to the public, then in the years to come, they will only get the good things that you wrote. But not all the infomation that they need to know. I think it is still a lie. By the way, Seav is too young to write an article for Aquino. He relied on many biased books. I was there during the EDSA revolution, I was there during the Martial Laws, I was there when Mambo-Mambo Magsaysay was the most popular song. I was there when Yay Marking was deleted from the History Books by Marcos. Do you think the books could offer more information than mine? I dont think so.. So it is all up to you if you would delete my article. There is one thing I want you to know, you are the one being biased.

== David you are a liar if you will say that you don't learn a thing from the " A hope that Failed " article

You (I can only call you "you" because you have not identified yourself) need to have a look at the HISTORY button at the top of the article. You will see that I did not write this article and my involvement with it has been minimal. Yes, I'll admit I am an admirer of this woman, though I **AM NOT** blind to her shortcomings. What you wrote, I have heard before. That said, there is no place for blatant POV in Wikipedia. That's a no-no. As I said, there is nothing wrong with *ATTRIBUTING* POV to a source. You can quote some politician, or professor, or journalist, making it clear that you are quoting a source and are not stating opinion as fact. Likewise, it is acceptable to say that some believe that she failed. To say that "some believe" - or even "many believe" - that she failed is not the same as saying that she did fail. You need to distinguish the relative from the absolute here, and you've been failing to do that.
If I had more time, I would rewrite what you've written, rather than just snuffing it. Right now I'm busy preparing lessons for my students for the next semester, which is why I've hardly had a look in at Wikipedia since the end of May. Hopefully, the next month will afford me the time to return to Wikipedia. Then I might be able to work out a way to include some of your sentiments in the article as third-party opinion. There are some parts of what you wrote that could be salvaged, but doing so is, to be perfectly frank with you, like trying to find a lost gold ring in a room strewn with articles of lesser value. You obviously write good English, and it would be a wonderful thing if you could learn to distinguish fact from opinion, the relative from the absolute. But don't go around writing biased articles purporting to be fact. That's anti-Wiki. David Cannon 11:32, 21 Jun 2004 (UTC)

My sincere apology - I am really sorry for the mess. It was really too late for me to know about your NPOV rules. The feeling was like the enjoyment of riding a new race car, leting it run too fast, then suddenly you realize that there is no brake. Again, my apology.

Thank you, that's appreciated I think. Don't worry about it too much, it takes a while for most people to learn the ropes here. I for one am looking forward to seeing an article on Yay Marking. - Hephaestos|§ 05:58, 22 Jun 2004 (UTC)
