Talk: 1995 in film

From open-encyclopedia.com - the free encyclopedia.

I'm having a hard time believing that these are the top grossing films of '95. What is the source for these numbers? I'm especially skeptical of Jerky Boys, Napoleon, the Santa Clause, and Congo.

  1. Tommy Boy (Paramount)
  2. Jerky Boys: The Movie (Touchstone)
  3. Toy Story (Disney)
  4. Batman Forever (Warner)
  5. Napoleon (MGM)
  6. Babe (Universal)
  7. The Santa Clause (Disney)
  8. Congo (Paramount)

According to the IMDB, the top 10 in the U.S. were

  1. 191,800,000 Toy Story (1995)
  2. 184,031,112 Batman Forever (1995)
  3. 172,071,312 Apollo 13 (1995)
  4. 141,600,000 Pocahontas (1995)
  5. 108,344,348 Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls (1995)
  6. 106,600,000 GoldenEye (1995)
  7. 100,328,194 Casper (1995)
  8. 100,200,000 Jumanji (1995)
  9. 100,125,000 Se7en (1995)
  10. 100,012,500 Die Hard: With a Vengeance (1995)

We're going to want to go for worldwide ticket sales I assume, but I'd imagine the U.S. list is close to the worldwide list as well. -Jazz77
